To collect, preserve, and share the life, wisdom, and humor of Will Rogers for all generations.
Honey Springs Battlefield
Troops on both sides included Native Americans, African Americans, and Anglo Americans. The Federal victory opened the way for occupation of Fort Smith and the later Union victories in the Red River valley.
Washita Battlefield
Where Lt. Col. George A. Custer led the 7th U.S. Cavalry on a surprise dawn attack against the Southern Cheyenne village of Peace Chief Black Kettle on November 27, 1868.
Fort Smith
The park includes the remains of two frontier forts and the Federal Court for the Western District of Arkansas.  Judge Isaac C. Parker, known as the "hanging judge," presided over the court for 21 years.
